I love green or blue bottles and feel all the time that it's such a waste to throw them. I wish I has the necessary equipment and knowledge to transform them in something beautiful as this. Especially the candle glass from the right hand corner. Sigh...

Do you know how to recycle and have some tips and tricks for it?

I've been wanting to add a design to a couple of travel mugs [I'm not ordering enough of them to make it worth going through a company like cafepress] I've been thinking about just using acrylic paint with mod podge over it [or something similar, as all of the cups I've looked at have said "hand wash only" but I've worried about when we put either hot or cold liquids, if it's going to affect the paint. Most of the ones I've seen said not to put them in the microwave, so that's not a worry, but I'm still curious about what would be a good idea. I've thought about a regular travel mug, with a metal outer coating, then if it worked well, the plastic ones with the really thick straws.

Etchy.

Inspired by Pinterest, I recently reorganized my really messy pantry. I replaced many food boxes and bags with glass canisters. I really liked the way my canisters looked with my handwritten labels on them, but even after just a few opening and closings, I noticed that they were starting to look a little worn. (Obviously, it was the chocolate-covered pretzels canister that I noticed the wear on first.) I figured they were going to start looking dingy pretty fast. So, looking down the barrel of another sleepless night, I decided to do some glass etching. Glass etching is one of the most satisfying and simple crafts around! The etching cream does almost all of the work. The hardest part is creating and applying your design, and that's only as hard as you make it.

Here is one of the finished products!

Wild rice.

I feel like these could also double as Molotov cocktails if I ever get angry and want to start fires. Lol.
Anyway ... I made two of them for about $15 ... torch fluid is kind of pricey.

Also, I'm sorry there are no tags. I tried to add them but the menu wouldn't load. :/
