Crafts of the year #5, 8 and 9
Mar. 13th, 2008 08:47 amI have a lot of trouble with shoulder/neck pain, which gives me pretty frequent headaches. I did used to have a little shop-bought wheat pack thing, but it got fried in the old microwave. So I made myself a newer, better one!

Bascially, it's stuffed with jasmine rice and a bunch of dried lavender. It seems to hold the heat fairly well, and smells pretty at the same time. I wear it almost constantly.
Made by a slightly modified this pattern.
Only took me probably 30 minutes too.
I have been crocheting these little granny squares for a while, and finally decided to get off my ass and put them together into a rug. It's pretty mini.

It's probably about 75cm square.

With a wavy little boarder!
So I "made" these necklaces. I hardly count this as a craft, because I did almost nothing, but I needed a boost to my crafting numbers :D
I found a really pretty piece of paua shell while in New Zealand. It conveniently had a wee hole in it, which made it perfect to hang it off a necklace.

See how lazy this was? I didn't even have to drill a hole or make the chain-type thing or anything!
It's hard to get a good picture of it, as much of its prettiness is due to the way the colours shift in the light.
This is my dinosaur necklace! He came off a pair of earrings (I haven't found a use for his friend yet). Dinosaurs are hella cool, but he has a very pointy nail, which he likes to stab me with :(
