craftgrrl | Paper doll, doll blanket, Totoro, and chocolate bunny

Mass update here, since I don't want to annoy everyone by posting each time I finish something. So you get a bit of everything.

A paper doll I made for a swap on Swap-Bot. I used mostly Real Simple magazines, but also some Entertainment Weekly ones that my mom gave me.

Andie with her leopard-print bikini, venti soy chai latte, pet bunny LouLou, and princess crown.

A raincoat and boots, cute dress and more cute boots, and a fancy dress for going out, along with three hairstyles. She likes to change her hair often.

As a side note, d'you see that white thing on the table in the first picture? I spilled super glue all over and the first thing I grabbed to wipe it up was a tissue which, duh, stuck to the glue. Any thoughts on how to get it off? Is it even possible?

A friend of mine just got a Pullip doll and is soooo in love with her (she got Papin). She's made a little apartment for her on one of her shelves, but is using things like her camera case and thrifted t-shirts. (Correct me if I'm wrong here, Jenny, that's an approximation.) So I thought her dolly needed a little something to make the place more homey. Indeed, I had to restrain myself from crafting her more stuff, including clothes. It's like my friend had a baby I can't wait to spoil! :P Here's the blanket and pillow set I made her out of new flannel and thrifted polka-dot cotton. And ric-rack makes everything better!

I also made the same friend a little Totoro a while back. I saw one I think here on

craftgrrl and looked up the pattern, then made one that very night. (I didn't bookmark the pattern or I'd shar it with you! Oh noes! I have it on my computer, though.) Oh, he's so cute! You can sort of see a movie still of him on my computer screen in the background.

And the day before yesterday, I got it into my head that I NEEDED to make a chocolate Easter bunny out of craft felt. I don't know why, what sparked this, or what I'm going to do with the little bugger, but here he is. (Please forgive the horrible "lighting," I'm not much of a photographer.) The pattern I used was: I Googled "chocolate bunny," found a picture I liked, then held a piece of paper up to the computer screen and traced its outline. Then I cut a sort of football shape for the bottom and whipstitched it all together. I added the eyes last out of embroidery floss.
