Mar. 22nd, 2008 04:36 pmI like being short. Though it does have its draw backs (not being able to get the peanut butter out the top shelf for one) and one is driving. More the fact I have just bought my first car and it's old and it doesn't have a gidget that means I can move the seat up. So I have resorted to a cushion when I'm driving.
My Mum bought me a cushion but it was frilly and white and no good to be sat on all the time so I decided to make a cushion cover for it. I won't be working in leatherette for a while, it's a nightmare when you don't have the machine feet to make it easier.

The red is more of a cherry red but we've had such odd weather with it going sunny and not sunny that my camera was having a hard time adjusting to it.

I love skulls. Skeletons and body parts in general are facianting. And I have to skull up my car obviously. I think next choice has to be dice to hang from the mirror with skulls on.

I drew the skull from memory and traced it on to tracing paper for a guide with the machine embroidery. I would of tried to shade in with the thread but I decided against to stop it puckering and ripping the fabric but I kind of like the simplicity.
No pattern was used I just drew onto the back of the fabric as it was a simple shape and it has three poppers to keep it shut. And the skull is glued on with UHU because I didn't want to have anymore stiching that needed.
And becaue I love my car so much (Named Vincent) I'll throw in a photo because I love to show her off.

(Taken before I bought her, the reason for the 'For Sale' sign.
