My first bag!
Mar. 30th, 2008 10:44 amI'm so excited and proud of myself for this, lol! I made a bag! With the cutest fabric and a lining and fusible interfacing and straps and it came out soooo good! I can't wait to use it even though I have no idea what I'll use it for! And I have a ton of fabric left over, too, so I could make more in different sizes! Or something else! Like a travel pillow!
I used this tutorial and, even though I didn't quite understand how it would all magically come together when I pulled it right-side out I went with it, and was so surprised and excited when I did pull it right-side out and it did magically come together that I literally jumped out of my chair and did a happy dance right there in the kitchen. Complete with chanting. Lol!

I was going to go with a yellow lining to match the yellow states, but I think this pink lining goes better with the outside fabric overall.

The can is there for size. And it looks like the bag is leaning up against the plant, and it kind of is, but it also stands up on it's own pretty well. Yay for interfacing!
So there you have it! My first bag! I made it yesterday afternoon (for the 4/3 challenge at
craftychallenge, but I'm so excited about it that I couldn't wait that long to post it, lol!) and I'm still excited about it, lol! Sewing is so much more instantly gratifying than crocheting!
