Mentoring & Crafts
Apr. 7th, 2008 05:53 pmI'm a part of a mentoring program in Atlanta and have a 9-year-old "Little Sister." She loves doing crafts and obviously I do too. Our biggest challenge is that we really don't have a place to do them! I'm not allowed to bring her to my home and her apartment usually has people around like younger siblings and relatives who all want to participate. I'm used to working with groups of children and could accommodate the younger ones, but the time with my Little Sister is supposed to be for just us.
Can anyone think of places we could craft? So far I've thought of going to a park pavilion, but sometimes I need an electrical outlet for a hot glue gun or sewing machine.
PS- I'm also the person working on the Super Mario Bros. scarf. I haven't finished it yet and I'll be sure to post pics as soon as I do.
