Apr. 18th, 2008 05:10 pmAs I am secretary of our local horticultural society, it is my job to send out cards of condolence, or sympathy or get well messages to any members to whom the occasion fits. So I have made a sympathy card to send to one of our members.

The card is made of white cardstock. I embossed a simple frame on the front of the card, then with my Cricut cutter, I cut out a single rose and then layered it in white cardstock and then another layer of speckled white vellum. I wrote 'With Sympathy' along the bottom with a glue pen and then gold embossed it. The inside just has a short note, computer generated, along with our logo. I attached a piece of gold elasticised ribbon to give it an added touch.
I will have to get a better glue pen for embossing, as this one was rather blotchy. Maybe it just needs to be used more often. I have been looking for the right stamp that says "with sympathy", but they are so hard to come by. If I could get one similar to the writing on this card I would be happy.
Anyway, it's done. I think it is simple but effective. The photo isn't the best, as you can't really see the details of the flower that well, or the embossed frame, but it's the best I could do this time around.
This is X-posted.
