Coating Shrinky Dinks
May. 15th, 2008 01:29 pmI've been trying to find a clear glaze to coat shrinky dinks after colouring them with permanent markers. I've gone through the memories here and done a ton of google-ing. From what I read, spray glaze was better than brushing glaze on with a paintbrush. All the acrylic gels I have make the acrylic markers bleed of course.
I went to Home Depot and found a UV resistant spray several people found best - Diamond Glaze. But it comes out of the spray can very bubbly and inconsistent. On some pieces where I lucked out and could spray a thin coat, it wasn't too bad. But it's very foamy and all the permanent markers bled.
Can anyone help me out? I may have to switch to using clear plastic and pencil crayons, but I just bought 3 packs of bright white for markers:(
