creating privacy?

so, going back to school means moving back into my parents house, but more specifically, the basement. the basement is going to remain a communal space, because they keep the family computer down there, not to mention extra food and the laundry room, so i was to create something that will give me some sort of privacy. really, i'd only use it if i'm sleeping because so it doesn't need to be too complicated. does anyone have any ideas on how to go about doing this without having to spend loads of money on nonsense? the only thing i can think of is making a canopy, but i don't know if there's something else that i'm just not seeing, haha. thanks!
