Jewellery and Hearing Aids
Jun. 6th, 2008 12:24 pmAlways a good combination. Grandparents can be so hard to buy for, so instead I decided to make them something for them.

My Nana loves sparkly things (though she insists she too old for sparkles) so I decided to rip apart the old jewellery box that I never used to and recover it. The photo of the front is of my Mum (the one on the right) and my Auntie one holiday when they were little with a bit of embroidery and beads. Everything is done by hand, I would like to do it again sometime. Like all first times there are many things that could be done better.

My Granddad's hearing is getting really bad though I do thing in some cases he practices selective hearing with my Nana. :D But he needs something to keep his hearing aids in when he wants some total peace and quiet. I took this old drawing of the ear from a book he gave me years ago. One of the best books I've ever been given. He appreciates the facination if anatomy.

All hand sewn using silk threads.
