Repurposed items

I have been on a kick of repurposing things recently. I've done a couple of storage boxes, jewelry, and an earring holder.

Here are a couple of cigar boxes I've painted and then collaged on the top. The second one is not *quite* finished.




Here's the earring holder. It used to be one of those frames where the glass clipped onto a wooden back, but the glass broke. I didn't want to get rid of the wood, so I painted it black, hammered the tacks around the edges, and covered it in copper wire. It's made to hold my big fish hook style earrings.

 

Here are the jewelry pieces I've made. Most are from pieces of old things that I either didn't like - or were broken. I rearranged beading, and added a few new touches.

I apologize if the pictures wind up being large - I edited them on photobucket, but I COULD NOT get it to actually store the edits.  Every time I tried to link the pictures, they turned out in my original format, even though I told it to replace the original pictures about a jillion times.  I've been battling with it for at least an hour now.  I give up.  You get large, unedited pictures.  Sorry.
