Jul. 7th, 2008 02:35 amMy 8-year-old sister is my favorite crafting buddy ever. Recently here in New Orleans, there was a fashion show to benefit a local non-profit called Recycle for the Arts. One part of the fashion show featured designs made by kids aged 8 - 15.
Each participant got a bag containing thrifted clothes and some donated fabric and were asked to recreate an outfit. They had to do it in two weeks! We used a lot of fabric glue, handstitching, and iron-on appliques since she is a beginner to sewing. (And, uh, I'm not that great at it myself.)
Here are pictures of my sister's design:
