I like to think of myself as a pretty practical girl. I accept any gifts from the hand-me-down gods with open arms and don`t see the point in baking something when it will taste just as great fixed up in the microwave. So, when it came to not being able to afford a free standing wooden childrens' clothing rack for my baby girl's room, I just had to get crafty!

Everyone meet, "Ole Reliable", our former clothes drying rack. He is now missing a couple bars but is certainly being utilized better than ever!

If you`re looking for a cute, budget friendly storage solution for your child's room- grab a saw and give this multipurpose rack a try. You can also paint the bars and the rack different colors to make it match your rooms color scheme.

Racks are available at Linens n' Things, Bed Bath and Beyond, and many other retailers.

Disclaimer: Some parents have commented that this idea is not safe. I see their point completely and would like to note that I do not ever leave my child unattended in her room, which is why this clothing storage solution has worked for me. This rack also is non-retractable (thanks to elmers wood glue) and lightweight, so if it were ever to tip over, god forbid, all Haley would suffer is a beating from her frou frou dresses and onesies that she despises anyway
