kiln

Hi guys.
I have a question that may seem dumb, but I am pretty terrified of torching my apartment. 
I recently purchased a Firefly kiln so I could begin making silver clay jewelry, but I have no idea what type of surface it needs to be sitting on. All the manual says is to keep it away from things that are combustable. 

I have a wooden workbench, and I'm wondering if that would be okay since the kiln itself has rubber covered legs.
