pricing crafts?
Apr. 10th, 2003 03:21 amok so im in this craft/zine collective and once we get our butts in gear we are going to make lots of crafy things and publish zines on all sorts of stuff to sell at zine fairs, book fairs, things like ladyfest, etc. now i decided one of the things im going to make are knitted bags but im not sure how to price them.
each bag will be fairly big. like those army satchel bags. that size. and all hand knit, lined with pretty silk or satin, whatever i can find at value village in the way of scarves/blouses etc. and im going to be putting my vintage buttons to use on them. the buttons i already own but they are from the 60/70's so are i guess somewhat valuable. the yarn costs like $3/bag and the lining and lace/embroidery/other embelishments will probably cost a $1 or $2 so supplies will cost like $5 total. but it takes probably a week at least to knit a bag and that means sore hands.
im thinking $15 (canadian). does that sound fair? too much? too little? tell me what you think.
