Ideas/patterns for simple baby toys?

craftgrrlHi everyone! I'm looking for some baby toy ideas I can sew... I have a 16 mo. old nephew and his newborn brother and I'd like to mail them something they can play with. Any simple ideas/patterns you guys can steer me to? I'm semi new to sewing so I don't need anything too difficult. I'm thinking some kind of plushy stuffed toy maybe?
I have lots of recycled denim and corduroy that I thought would be good durable textures they'd enjoy, along with a good random assortment of cotton prints and such. The newborn obviously is, well, a newborn (haha) but the 16 mo old is wide open and curious and a real busy body! Any ideas?
