Sep. 16th, 2008 02:19 pmThis summer, I wanted to find a project I would actually WEAR in the summer months. Sure, I have a ton of hats and love 'em, same with scarves, and my purses and pillows are well used. But things such as sweaters, shawls, and ponchos always seem to allude me. Well, I decided to knit a common summer staple of mine--a halter top. As summers here in Little Egypt are painfully hot, even in late September, this top came at the right time!
It was knit with three skeins of Lion Brand Cotton, color black (duh), on size 8 needles...what else...everyone asked when I would knit in public what I was making, and when I said a halter top, they stared and said 'No way! You can't knit that!' Well, I did. And it sure is comfy!
