travis and devlin:


we got mad crazy comments and kudos on the costume, but, he didn't place! they chose some kids who had like zero effort into their costumes! i was kindof annoyed but as devlin pointed out and i taught him, it's not the winning so much as the having fun. and i do believe he had the most fun.

he got to hang out and play with his bestest circus teacher, cynthia:

so altogether it was a fun night, if a little slow, as it was rhythmixs' first event of this nature. i feel wiped out after all that push push push to get the whole costume together.

it is really sad to see how much cynthia LOVES devlin...sad because he has to leave class early, and we won't see her again for a long time. she can't stop going on about it. she says he's the best kid she's ever taught: 'why can't all kids be more like him, he's smart, he's polite, he's helpful...' yep. he's the bomb-diggity, alrighty! and now he has green hair, which he is LOVING.

if i had had more time i would have done a bit more to the costume, but, we're happy with what we got. not bad for a first time costume construction, it is entirely hand-sewn. i got the teeth to stabilize by actually sewing them in at the corners.
