Baby Costume Update
Oct. 31st, 2008 08:47 pmA couple weeks ago I asked for help coming up with a cheap and easy costume for my two month old son. I got a lot of great suggestions, and I was planning to make him a bacon and eggs costume. I talked to my mom about these ideas, and she had one of her own. She suggested that I make him a sheriff costume, since his name is Marshall. Get it? I loved that idea, so that's what I did!

I took his brown onesie and pants and added some fleece and felt. I freehanded a no-sew fleece vest and glued on a felt sheriff's badge. I wanted to make some felt cowboy boots, but couldn't work it out in my head how to do it. I decided to sew on a couple strips of felt fringe instead. I had a long skinny strip of felt left that I trimmed off of the fringe, so I tied it into a a bow and stitched it onto his onesie. I'm not sure what those kinds of ties are called, but they wore them in the old west a lot and my grandpa wore them with his square dancing outfits.

And here is our handsome buckaroo all duded up:

It's really hard to get a good full-body shot of a baby who can't stand. I think you get the idea, though.
Thanks for everyone's help!
**Edit: Thanks, everyone, for the sweet comments!
