if I got one of those boot kits [for knitting..they come with the leather soles and the yarns] would I be able to combine using that kit with a pretty close variation of this crochet pattern and some extra frills to make boots kinda like these [1][2 sans swirlies on the bottom] that I could wear outside [a few cm of snow] in the winter?
would that even work? I don't know how to knit and don't really have the time to learn right now..so I would be following a crochet pattern and some creativity, and then pretty much hand sew on the soles. I'd probably be wearing socks under them, but would I have to worry about them soaking up water from walking on snow or rain? would waterproofing the soles help? and maybe adding some shoe insoles for some arch support...I would think that would help keep the bottoms of my feet dry.
am I making any sense? lol..I just really don't feel like spending 100$ on boots when I can possibly make my own this season!
