Two pillows for mom

Hi everyone!!!

Been a while since I posted in here.
6 years ago, at the ripe young age of 19, I moved from southern CA to Philly in an effort to go to the Art Institute. During this time NO ONE from my family was ever able or willing to come visit me. I always had to go back home to see my parents and whom ever else. Well, the time has come. My mum is coming to visit for two weeks and is arriving this coming Sunday night. I'm so excited! This was kind of a last minute thing too cause I happen to be checking out ticket prices and got shocked when I seen flights for $243 ROUND TRIP! Mind you, sundays are considered peak days and thats the day she flies in, also she is coming on the 23rd which is considered Thanksgiving rush. Put all that together and normally you get a crazy $500+ ticket! Yah so I begged her to deal with the stress of flying and she said yes....YAY.

Ok, long story short, we bought a bed for the second bedroom so she had a nice place to lay her head, got new bedding and whatnot. Well, I wanted to add a little something nice for her, so I made these (pics were taken with my webcam as my regular cam is at my mother-n-laws house in NY):



The black one with flowers is in the shape of an X. It has a basic cream colour back with 4 little beige circles in the middle. It's small but not so small you can't snuggle it a little while laying there watching TV or reading a book.
The white one with black swirls is not super stuff but still comfy. It is a little bit smaller then a standard size pillow.
When she goes back home I'm going to make sure to stuff the X shaped pillow into her luggage that way when she gets home and misses me she can give it a hug. Cheesy I know. LOL.

The drawing above the headboard was done by my husband. It's Marilyn Monroe. He seen a photo he liked and wanted to practice portrait drawing so he replicated it and it looks fabulous. If anyone wants a close up shot let me know.

So what do you think of the pillows? I'm new to making them and though they are simple to make they aren't as simple to fill without being too lumpy. Thanks so much for looking!!!
