Bellydance costumes.
Nov. 23rd, 2008 04:10 pmI bellydance. I recently finished a custom order for a costume (I don't take orders, I only work in my local community here in Tokyo) and got some stunning photos back of some of my homemades in action at a photoshoot.
This might count as cam-whoring, if so, so be it. For me it is about celebrating the fact that I made these. New costumes are hella expensive!
Cowrie shell custome order. The background fabric I covered in iridescent creme sequins.

Green costume I made last year but only got around to photographing professionally last week

Documentation on makign it can be found here:

My first (surviving) homemade, which I recently upped the beaded fring on to make it appropriate to the level of gigs I do now. The belt slipped in photographing and I will need to do some minor photoshop later.

And the last is not a homemade by me, but I did do some major costume surgery on the bra and documented the process.
