Hello, I'm planning to make dome dogtags for my dog (who has more than fifteen collars, cough). I thought I'd try resin, but I'm having some troubles.
First: I want the tag to have a readable front and back, which means that I will have to get an even coat of resin on both sides. I also want it to be relatively flat and rounded -->
I tried dipping the tags in resin, but when I let it dry, the coat slides off again, leaving a far too thin coat. Then I tried molds, but such shallow molds (in the right size) are impossible to find ;_; I tried making my own molds with some sort of clay, but it stuck to the curing resin resulting in a non-see-through back.
Does any of you crafters have an idea? Would a fimo mold work or is it too rigid to pop the resin out?
