Nov. 26th, 2008 10:36 pmso i have obtained this t-shirt from a band i enjoy quite a bit - however, it is an awful color combo - electric blue and silver foil print! i love the silver foil print, but the blue has got to go. i plan on dying it a more subdued color (i'll probably use black dye, but i acknowledge it may not come out jet black, i'm fine with that, just no more electric blue, aaargh.)
the shirt is brand new, so the foil is still all nice and...foil-y. and i'd really like to have it stay that way as long as possible. i was just going to use good old rit dye, because the shirt is 100% cotton, and i figured that would be the gentlest solution for the print (also, the cheapest).
so here's the question - is the dye going to ruin the silver foil?
