I'm not sure this could be counted as a craft, but it *is* creative....

I'm a teen/children's librarian (okay, technically not a "real" librarian as I don't have the degree, but I do the same job as one....) at a small town library and today our Christmas tree arrived at work and the Christmas village went into the adult display case, so I decided to get the children's room all ready for Christmas -- pulled Christmas books to put on display, and then updated the children's display case. Last week I was struck by a flash of brilliance... but could I really pull it off? Today... I did.

In case you can't tell, clutched in his little hands is a fake book -- "The Snowman".

I hung up foam snowflakes and homemade, sparkly tissue paper snowflakes from the ceiling of the case, put down fake snow on the floor, and scattered popular kids' books all over the floor, along with extra snowflakes. Then I put one of our bags next to the snowman and stuffed it with some more kids' books. The words on the back of the case (which I made using Photoshop and printed out) say "Warm up with a good book."

I'm quite proud of my idea! :D Now... tomorrow, the teen area! (Actually, they don't get much in the way of Christmas-y stuff... but I'm planning on updating my themed book display to show off novels on time travel.)
