My two gifting challenges this year was my co-teacher and my brother. The co-teacher and I agreed on a 5 dollar limit and just as I was thinking, "I'll just get her a Caribou Coffee gift card!" she said, "You're so crafty, I can't wait to see what you do with five dollars!"
But I was inspired by our diaper board in the classroom (pre-k) and came up with personalized fridge magnet poetry! I came up with a list of words that included her name, her boyfriend's name, the dog, their favorite hockey team, inside jokes, etcetera, and printed it on photo paper, then stuck it to sticky back magnet strips. Total cost: 3.20. The picture is not so great.

My brother was more challenging, because he doesn't like anything. Except Calvin and Hobbes, which he likes enough to get a tattoo of the pair. I found an end table at a thrift store for 1.70 and bought a used copy of Scientific Progress Goes Boink! on Amazon, got some Mod Podge and several sticky days later, a present he would actually like was born.
