Epoxy resin necklace
Jan. 6th, 2009 12:03 pmHi all! I've been lurking here for a few months, but this is my first time posting anything of my own. (If I've made any n00b errors, please forgive me - I've read the rules and lurked, but I'm also a bit paranoid!)

I made the necklace from epoxy resin and silver findings. Set into the resin are a combination of stuff I printed (pictures and text) and found objects, sequins, glitter and shrink plastic. Instead of using pigment to tint the resin, I risked using powder eyeshadow, which (luckily) worked perfectly.
This was my first time using resin, so there was a lot of experimentation along the way. Also, rather annoyingly, one of the beads split the second time the necklace was worn (the resin was too sticky and soft, and never quite set properly), although I've now fixed it. Feedback is appreciated, but please be gentle. :)
