Beading Chain, String

What is your favorite string/chain material to use for beading? I understand that this can vary and generally also affects the type of closing used. I have tried hemp (thin and thick), fishing line, dental floss etc.

Choker tuts? I love, love me some chokers but have a hard time picking between ribbon and stretchy string.

Just wondering what other necklace, earring, bracelet makers enjoy. Hope I haven't offended or come across as too silly to respond to.
