Hi, I just got a new puppy. (points to icon). Sasha is a 12 week old Miniature Schnauzer. Since it's so cold out, when I take her outside or in the car with me, I've had to put sweaters on her. I never thought I'd be posting puppy sweaters, but here are a couple that I've made.
ETA: All the sweaters are crocheted.
First, I made this one without a pattern from yarn I had around, trying to figure out how best to make it to fit her:

Here it is off her, from the side. You can see the neck part, which fits like a little turtleneck and the blank area I left for her legs.

Then I got a book with some patterns for sweaters and since they had them sized for many different sizes of dogs, I thought this would work well. I measured her and made a sweater from a plain pattern according to what the directions indicated for the number of rows and stitches, etc. for her size. I did this one in two colors, pink and orange, because Sasha was named for the new president's younger daughter and Sasha Obama wore a pink and orange outfit to the inauguration. Here are two pics from the "top" and "bottom" view of the sweater.
Bottom (under the dog):

Top (on the dog's back):

Unfortunately, this was too big for Sasha, even though I followed the directions exactly. She just doesn't have enough "chest" to take up the roomy sweater. The orange ribbed neck part is supposed to fit like a turtleneck but I had to turn it down more like a collar for her. I'm sure she'll grow into it soon though.
Anyway, after that, I made another sweater in the same colors, adjusting the size to her myself instead of following the exact patttern.
Here are two views of it, plus one with her "modeling" it:

Top:

It's really hard to fit a puppy -- if she's awake when I'm measuring, she tries to bite the yarn or the measuring tape. If she's asleep, it's harder to move her to try it on or get an accurate measurement. Oh well, it's still fun.
Comments are welcome!
