Liquid Polymer Clay
Feb. 9th, 2009 01:27 pmI am one of those omnivorous crafters who has to try everything. While not every craft sticks as an ongoing involvement/obsession/bitter love affair, I do try to get in depth with everything. Lately polymer clay has been my dark mistress, and I have decided to get more involved with it. I picked up some Pearlex powder, and some TLS. Something is not clicking with the TLS and me. I haven't tried the transfers yet, but I have attempted the enameling and the stained glass effect. My problem with this is that I cannot get a high gloss finish with it. I can't get any gloss finish at all. It's more of a matte-ish satin finish if anything. What am I doing wrong, eljay? I have tried wet-sanding and buffing to no avail. Am I just not buffing enough? Any good suggestions for better buffing material than a dry washcloth? I don't have a rock tumbler, otherwise I would try the sandpaper technique that I've seen described.
