Embroidery Patterns!
Feb. 20th, 2009 12:32 pmIn a unexpected branch off my recent attempt to chrinicle all the various ways you can embellish your clothes on my blog, I've begun scanning and sharing the line art I draw for my embroidery so that other embroidering sorts can use them. I thought you all might be interested- who isn't interested in free patterns?
Today's offering, given in celebration of a completed and verily rocked Cell Biology exam, is a rather unconventional giraffe:

Giraffe?
Just in case you're not so into the Giraffe-and-Stars thing, here's the blank version:

Naked Giraffe
That way you can fill in your own random shapes and motifs (skulls? hearts? paisley giraffe?), or *gasp* even try your hand at the many sorts of actual giraffe spots there are on all the various giraffe subspecies. You can get the high-res version of both patterns by clicking on their respective pictures once, then clicking on them again on the next page that comes up. Be warned: when I say high-res, I mean it. Then save it and resize and print and transfer and stitch! Ta da!
I call Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial on these things, which means you can do whatever you want (use, reuse, abuse, remix, share), just give me a nod and don't use it for profit. Really, I just want to keep track of where she goes, and want anyone who wants the pattern to know where to find it.
Three final points: a) if you use these patterns I'd love to see your final product (Hi, my name is Tala, and I'm a looking-at-other-people's-crafts addict), b) if you've got suggestions for embroidery patterns you'd like to see, my ears are open, and c) I already have and will continue to post more patterns to my blog as I get them drawn and scanned, so keep an eye out. Sharing is fun!
Happy stitching!
