Owlies

I can't sew, i'm awful with a sewing machine. I tend to sew something, then find out i've done it inside out, sewn over the place i was supposed to leave, or my brain can't see that i just need to turn it inside out/the right way round and attach something else and it would be fine - so i start over instead. It's safe to say i gave up on that.

Then someone (sorry!) posted the tutorial on the wee owls a while ago, and i have a love affair with cute owls so i had to try. Mainly because i knew a sewing machine wasn't needed xD Many trials ensued, and i have an army of half finished, half stuffed owls. I got frustrated at the fabrics i was trying to use because they stretched and let the seams show. So i bought some felt and had a go with that instead - and i'm converted. It's so much easier to use, folds the way i want it to, and is a bit more sturdy.

This is Mr and Mrs Owl. She gets fed up with him, he can't understand her. They're still together though, you have to give them credit. She's wearing wee earrings, and a heart on her necklace.

This one is my wonky favourite :D He's a bit sideways but i am proud of him. He now lives with my best mate who was having a stink day the day i made him. He apparently sits above a computer screen and frowns disapprovingly on conversations held online. He's felt - dark brown with a light brown tummy. Sorry about the quality of the photos.

Moral of the day is - try everything and anything! You might surprise yourself and be happy with what you manage to churn out.
