sewing machine?

so with my tax return i am going to get a sewing machine. i have long wanted one, just never gotten off my bum to get one. i am looking for something ideal for beginners, but that is durable and worth the money. i am looking to spend under $150, if i can closer to $100.

suggestions? also, i have never used a sewing machine so any tips or sites/books on how- to would be lovely!
