It's been a long time coming, but I finally got around to taking pictures of some of the things I've churned out in the past few months.

Ever get bit by the MIGHTY NEED?
You'll be zipping along in life, minding your own business when all of a sudden you have a MIGHTY NEED to make an incredibly specific kind of something which just won't go away until it is completely satisfied? I had that happen to me the other day while playing Warcraft. I finally noticed the giant lumbering mountain of devilsaur that was trailing behind me, thought he looked kind of neat...and was run over by the MIGHTY NEED to try and make one out of clay.

As you can see, it didn't turn out quite right. Quite frankly, I blame it all on the nose.
The second try turned out MOOCH BATTER:

I paid more attention to skull structure and markings and finally came up with something that satisfied the MIGHTY NEED.
Of course, had the MIGHTY NEED demanded me do one more millimeter of tiny dot-like 'scales', I would have thrown myself out the window.

Okay, so the blue one doesn't look TOO bad here... but you have to agree that the orange one is MOOCH BATTER.

You see this? This is a Wolpertinger. Usually you can only see them when you've drank your weight (or the weight of a devilsaur) in beer. They're a companion pet you can get in Warcraft...and I fully understand how dorktastic it makes me for making one. HOWEVER I found out that the Wolpertinger is based on a jackalope-like joke/creature from Germany and isn't just another weird-ass critter pulled from the aether by Blizzard.
This little fellow has popped up to say that he is unhappy with having only vegetables available. He raided a goblin camp earlier and has popped up to say that either Beerfest comes sooner, or else everything is going to go boom!

Aww, look at his little eye-twitch.
Now, on to Non-Warcraft things!

Earlier this year I was hit with the MIGHTY NEED to make a cat out of Fimo...but not just any cat. This cat had to be wearing a sweater, of all things. It was only after I had finished and was satisfied with them that I realized that it kind of looked like those collectible Calico Cats thingies that my friends used to collect when I was a kid. Dang.
He looks confused by the tiny bit of unraveled yarn from his sweater. Now the question is, should he bat at it, chew on it or figure out a way to fix it?

This was my second attempt at making a cat wearing a sweater...and this time, he even has an added scarf!
I think that it was really, really cold when I made these guys. *L*

Again, the Mighty Need hit, and this time it spoke of GRYPHONS.
Unfortunately, I've never had any luck with beaks...but the Mighty Need would not be denied! On the up-side, this little fellow didn't turn out bad at all! Hooray!

...here's proof that things don't always turn out well the more you work on them. This was my second attempt at making a gryphon and it really didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. 'Course, I'm not exactly sure WHAT I was going for, but I know that this WASN'T it.
Don't worry though, I got better!

Right after my disastrous attempt at making a purple gryphon chick, I decided to try my hands at doing regular ol' backgard bird gryphons!
First there's the downy woodpecker, then the goldfinchy, then male bluejay and finally a female cardinal!
Since these are based on some of the birds that frequent my parents' backyard, I gave these to my Mom and she loved the hell out of them.
