I'm learning to belly dance and at long last, learning to play finger cymbals! I drew a pattern and made the bag below, as you need one you can wear across the body so you can get at them quickly during performance. I used about half of a fat quarter and a 7 inch zipper, as well as 2 yards of cord. I hand sewed the zipper, but the rest is machined and the bag is lined:
Next up, I'm working on redoing my bedroom, but I blew all my cash on a couch and need to keep it cheap . . . and I rent, so I can't do anything permanent. These are fake battery operated candles I bought at Jo Ann and added ribbon to. The "stands" they're on are the . . . propping bit of some picture frames that I'd taken off. I cut them with scissors and colored the brownish bits that showed through black, then hot glued them together. I used the plastic-velcro type hangings that 3M makes, which have proven to be much better at keeping things up than all other kinds.
