introductory post here. i'm loving this community already, especially the girl with knives icon.
i work at michael's, which is a baaaaad thing. new resolution not to go home with a bag everyday.
hmm, i made lots of cards. i'm supposed to be scrapbooking, but i only seem to get to the cards. the boxes of scrapbooking bits of paper will have to wait for a while.
currently making a tabletop fountain out of a pyramid of marbles, glued together with bathroom caulk. and ideas for 2 or 3 more floating around in here.
thanks for the mention of marble_madness in the user info too. i've been playing with a lot of different marbles lately.
i just finished knitting my first thing, a scarf. don'ttellanyoneitsaharrypotterscarf. its turned out rather well. made from thick n quick yarn. its niiiice, if uneven. i am dabbling in monks cloth embroidery too.
trying to hash out a beaded fringe for my lampshade. i keep starting it and tearing apart because i know i can make it better.
i'm taking a ceramics class at the local community center, its so much fun to play with clay and get it fired again! i havent done this since elementary school.
mom just got one of those freaking $5,000 sewing machines at joanns that embroider all sorts of things all by themselves. this is the one thing that will finally force her to learn to use the computer, because you can get designs off the internet, plus you can manipulate the designs, but only in the computer. in the meantime i'm the official "find me a 4 leaf clover!" internet searcher for mom.
i'm thinking that this group will the the push i need to figure out webspace and picture hosting just to show off the things i make. about damn time, too.
in case you couldn't tell already, i'm all about making things. nice to know there are others like me in the world.
how many of you guys have crafty family members? and/or completely not crafty type people (who can't understand the continually messy project table in your basement?)
