i have a boatload of sand dollars that my mom and i caught, dried and bleached from a trip to my hometown in south carolina to see my grandfather before he died. as you can imagine these are pretty special to me and have a ton of sentimental value. i would like to paint them and cover them with resin to harden them but my last attempt at this did not go well (the sand dollar soaked up all the resin!). i even tried laying down a layer of sealer first.

any ideas on how to seal them so they can be painted and then cast? they have been sitting in my garage forever and really feel the need to do something with them. am thinking about framing a mirror or something (my grandparents had a mirror like this in their house)

btw happy belated easter everyone!
