Jul. 28th, 2009 10:34 pmThis is a two part entry: one, I'm baby sitting two kids until the 7th. The girl is about 10 and a girly-girl and the little boy is six and LOVES video games. Anyone have any creative ideas for ways to entertain the kids with crafts this week? I'm looking for cheap (or free), easy things to do with the kids. I'm planning to go grab a bucket of sidewalk chalk and maybe some sculpey this weekend, but I'm trying to find things to do indoors (it's raining all week) that DOESN'T involve video games. The little boy is addicted and will play ALL DAY if you let him.
So, part two. Here is what we did today: The little boy helped so much with both of them, which I was so happy about. He was REALLY excited about Mario and now wants to make Wario, Luigi Toad, etc. He colored the M, told me to make his nose REALLY big, colored the overalls, made Peach's crown and jewels. The little girl glued, cut and did the dress for Peach (minus some of the more detailed lines.) I won't lie, I did SpongeBob all by myself, but the little boy made his own SpongeBob puppet as I made mine. But, looking back, they'd be easy to break apart into pre-cut pieces for future baby sitting crafts, esp. Mario and Spongebob.
