Bored at work desk craft!
Aug. 21st, 2009 08:49 amI was absolutely dying yesterday at work being on the phones constantly and answering questions about swim lessons, so while I was answering the same questions over and over, I busied my hands making a stamp!
This eraser showed up on my desk and so I drew all over it in pen. I mean, what do I need an eraser for at work?
Anyways, I wrote my little nickname on it (Full name is C-H-R-I-S-T-L-E if you please, so my friends shortened it to XTLE when I was a teenager, and it just kind of stuck.

And there is my first attempt at stamp making. For people who haven't done it before... I'd reccommend at least buying the softer pink erasers. This one was super hard and so I have to push really hard when I stamp. I have some wood blocks at home that I'm going to mount on the back to make it easier to stamp, but all-in-all, not a complete failure or success.
As far as method goes, for anyone insterested, I sectioned the stamp into 4 blocks with a ball point pen, one for each letter, then I set to carving it out with my scissors. I just so happen to keep a small pair of craft scissors at work with me (the kind with very pointy tips!) and they helped make my crafting a bit easier.
So there you have it. Stampity stamp stamp..
