embroidery hoop art help?
Sep. 17th, 2009 10:56 pmhey! i'm pretty new to embroidery, i've been dabbling in it on and off for the past few months. most of the time i don't know what to do with my embroidery once i've finished.
now that i'm actually getting a little better i'd like to start displaying some of my embroidery. i really like the look of leaving them in the hoops.
i've been googling a little, but it just hasn't been working for me tonight, but how exactly do i go about finishing this off? what do i do to the back?
i assume i'd fold the excess fabric back and stick it down in some way (sewing? glue?) and then trim so theres not to much excess back there. do i put another bit of fabric over the top then so the back is hidden?
if anyone knows of a good tutorial please point me in that direction.
and just so this isn't all boring and text only heres a picture of some redwork i have been working on.

i actually finished it just a little while ago, but i was going to wait til tomorrow when i have better light to take a photo. i plan on making this one into a cushion cover for my couch. i downloaded the pattern from .
