encaustic wax painting

Hullo everyone.
I work in encaustics - which involve the use of wax as my main medium.
I wanted to share with you a little bit of my process, as well as some artworks.
This is my hot plate palette!
Here is another image of my set-up, to give you a better idea of the process:
- The hot plate goes under the aluminum palette to heat it up
- I then melt the wax (comes in pigment blocks) onto the palette
- You mix these just like you would paint, but the application is a little different...
- The brushes must be kept warm
- I use the heat gun to fuse the wax layers/to move the wax around my surface
- In the little tins? clear wax medium, beeswax, parafin wax
So i did a series of birds, playing with different patterns:

(encaustic wax, beeswax, japanese paper, graphite, oil stick)
I also did an urban series, some of which used my old 35mm negatives I had never got around to printing:

(encaustic wax, beeswax, collage, photo transfer, oil stick, carbon paper, newspaper, cheese cloth)
And then I created some mini encaustics, to play with multiple techniques, and see how these could work (or not) together.

(encaustic wax, beeswax, photo transfer, graphite, collage, wallpaper, patterned paper, vintage book)
aaaand...just for fun/to show you a work up-close:

(encaustic wax, beeswax, collage, monoprint on rice paper)
Thanks! Hope I didn't overwhelm you too much!
I welcome any thoughts/suggestions/questions/anything in the world.
