4th generation because I'm slow and 5th generation because Apple is always trying to out-pace my efforts to keep iPods safe from scratches - I think I'm on top of things now.

So I've been drafting patterns. The Apple developer website for making cases for iPods is a fantastic resource (as I can't afford to keep buying iPods in order to measure them)

Thank you Maths A-level for the ability to not mess up drawing 2D objects that will become 3D things.

Pattern then used to cut out onto fabric. I've started with a autumn theme to all the fabrics I'm using. I'm celebrating conkers and the fact that it stayed warm-ish and sunny for so long (as opposed to those autumns when it rains not stop and you spend the whole time traipsing through piles of soggy leaves).

The flowers in the first pic are some late autumn blooms I found in the garden - my tomatoes are also experiencing a late revival.

Sew together, I have a system if I'm doing lots which use the same colour thread, which is to do the vinyl windows, then the bottom and ribbon and finally the sides.

Unfortunately
I hit a bit of a hitch a this point, as I had no buttons to finish off the iPod cover so everything had to wait a little while and a shopping trip to the local market till I finished them off.

Once I had buttons it was just a case of handsewing them on to finish.
