Fabric Dye question

Okay, here's the deal. I went to New Orleans and since my kid loves dress up, I brought her back a kitty mask. She loves it and calls it a jaguar and has decided she wants to be a jaguar for Halloween. I'm too cheap and have too much free time to NOT make something for her, so I had this great idea for a costume but then got hung up... I could NOT find any orange fabric with animal print. Like... at all.

So I bought a leopard print with an orangey-brown hue in hopes of it being a good enough match. It's not. Now I'm in a dilemma with them not matching. She doesn't care but I do. My thought process is coming out all in question form, so here it is:

~Can I dye the fabric orange with fabric dye? (It's fleece - polyester)
~If I dye it, will the black spots also turn orange?
~If they turn orange, will they be dark orange or just black with a hint of orange?
~HOW do I dye fabric? I've never done it before.

~Am I in over my head with only 11 days left? I think I'm freaking out a little.
