So I received an old concertina for my birthday about a month ago.
And while I love old stuff, the stained, falling apart, covered in old duct tape glue cardboard box with the rusty staples that were cutting both me and the bellows on my concertina up just would not do....

So I went about crafting this beauty out of veg tan leather, with 'nautical' themed drawings (2 scenes total, not including the top) along the sides which I then burned in using a wood burner.

Open, with my concertina in it.
I even salvaged the label from the original box and glued it on the inside with rubber cement.
Since if antiques roadshow has taught me anything: always keep documentation with the original piece.

Start to finish I'd say this took somewhere around 20+ hours to make. And that's a conservative estimate.
Full WIP pics located on my personal journal.
And this is all.
Bye!
