I haven't painted in a long time and have decided I need to do it more often. I love it. For this craft, it's a wooden Santa decoration (about 2 ft. tall) we were given. I repainted (the original job was flaking and not to mention horrible). I have no idea how old this wooden Santa is, but now he looks MUCH better. Probably better than he's ever looked (aside from when he had leaves and a tree trunk and all that jazz).

One of these days I'll remember before pictures BEFORE I repaint something.

Here's the after shots:

I LOVE the metallic paints for the drawstring and spectacles. Also, very proud of the eyeball and rosy cheek. I was pretty afraid of that rosy cheek to start, but I'm glad I went with it.

I was thinking of my friend when I was painting the boots and so I gave Santa his (my friend's) trademark green laces and I pretend he's wearing combat boots instead of jolly fat man boots. (And yeah, there's an ugly splatter on the base. I'm going to re-primer over that in the morning).

I'm SO happy with this Santa. I can't stop looking at him. Maybe I'm officially in the holiday spirit?
