Alpaca/llama scarf
Dec. 21st, 2009 03:43 pmI've recently learned to weave, and just completed my fourth project about a week ago.

It's a scarf, about 15" wide made on a Kromski Harp rigid heddle loom that my boyfriend got me for my birthday in October. It's made out of yarn I got at an outdoor market in Buenos Aires, Argentina when I was studying abroad there. I know that it's alpaca or llama or a related fiber, but I don't know for sure what kind of animal it came from. I've had the yarn sitting around for about two years, and have started a few knitting projects with it, but nothing was ever quite right. But I love this scarf!
Here are a few more pictures. Click on them to go to their Flickr photo pages and see bigger versions.

If you care to read more, I also have written a little more about it on my blog: Nikki's Notebook.
*Edited to make the link to my blog link directly to the corresponding post.
