May. 7th, 2003 08:09 pmhey everyone. my sister's brithday is coming up and she loves the artwork done by keith haring... so i decided to make her a clock. :o)
i am not that great when it comes to copying artwork, but i tried. the body is paper mache that i sculpted around a tin foil base. then i let it cure and harden for a few days. i used and exacto knife to cut a square out of the back (removed the foil) and placed the clock mechanism in it.
by the way, the mechanics were taken from an old clock we were gonna throw out. it still worked, so i recycled. i recommend this for any future clock makers since the mechanics can get pretty pricey from craft stores. just hit the thrift stores and maybe carry a battery or two with you to test some of them while you are shopping. ;o)
anyway, here are some pics of the front and back. i know i should have taken pics of the process, but i dont have a digital cam... these were taken with the webcam... so forgive the ickyness of them.

and now that you've seen my version, look at the real artwork, and try not to laugh too hard at my lack of drawing ability. :o)
