Hey everyone. My last project was a hand embroidery one. Since my work didn't get into the compertition (mostly because of my rush job of sewing up the garment in the end- hand embroidery just takes to long!) So I decided to share with all of you :) ! Sorry this is a bit picture heavy

The skirt and top is made out of silk Dupion- dyed by myself :)


The top is double breasted, i used screen priting for the top, the beaded thousands of light and dark green beads onto it. The buttons are of one of my flower embroideries in clip buttons :) I liked this effect because I didn't want to use shop bought buttons.



The back which has the same print as the front- the beading fades off to the left, and then carries on so heres hardly any beads on the frontleft. The picture on the right is off all the beads slowly going up over the shoulder of the top.


 

The flowers are drawings using silk screen process, and to show the romance of past wars it has the writing on it of 'I Simply can't stand it without you much longer' . The flowers are appliqued on by machine.

Sorry if this is a bit picture heavy. All of this nearly drove me mad, the embroidery took so long and i'm still finding beads everywhere!!

One quick question- do you think that the buttons with embroidery of the flower would actually sell? I was trying to work out weather to make some (not trying to sell here by the way, was jus asking for opinion).
