Fabric Paint?

Hey craftgrrls,

Are any of you familiar with using textured fabric paint? I am redoing my couch and making cushion covers out of canvas and I really want to paint them to look like old feedsacks, you know? But I am so afraid that if I paint them, the paint will rub off on peoples' bums if they sit for a while. Do you think this would happen? Would washing the painted fabric after the 72 hours it takes to set help, you think?

Sorry to ask so many questions! But I have absolutely no experience with this sort of thing, and I'd hate to think of visitors' pants being ruined. D:
