Crafting for a cause
Jul. 30th, 2010 11:09 amBaby quilt I just finished for Project Linus.

Final dimensions are 32" x 32".
Blocks are 5" x 5", and the band around the edge is 1 1/2" wide.

Made of a variety of silks, some flannel backed satin, cotton, batiked rayon, and some lightweight garment grade poly brocade. All prewashed and dried before cutting/assembly.
Backed in a purple shirt grade cotton with silver pinstriping (surprisingly it's not scratchy at all, so I thought it was safe to use on a blanket)
For batting I used some polar fleece pieces that I tacked together with my machine to form one large piece.
For tacking I used a lavender cotton crochet thread in classic hand tied knots at the four corners of all the squares.
Not too bad for my first quilt!
Now to pack it up, and ship it off.
Bye now!
